Sir,
Referring to your letters No. 1828/05/0.8.0. of 19th May, 1905, and No. 5776/05/0.0.0. of 28th July, 1905, promising the reservation of two sites on Tai Ping Shan for College Buildings, I have the honour to state for the information of His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government that the Court have now received and accepted an offer by Mr. Ng Li Hing to erect two buildings, one costing $20,000, and the other $30,000.
Mr. Ng Li Hing proposes to hand over the sum of $20,000 in the course of the 34th year of Kwang Sui (1908-9) and the balance of $30,000 in six years, from the 35th to the 40th year of Kwang Sui (1909-1915).
The Court propose to proceed with the least possible delay to the erection of Anatomy rooms, the most urgent requirement of the College, and will as soon as possible thereafter erect other buildings.
I am directed therefore to ask that His Excellency may be pleased to now recommend to the Secretary of State for the Colonies the free grant to the College of the reserved sites.
